Today we spent 45 minutes in JST learning why having attractions for the opposite sex is unnatural. So it got me thinking, people take this law so seriously and yet religion prohibits so many other things that people just ignore, I suppose religious people just choose what laws to follow. So, anyway this debate is about why god thinks being gay is unnatural and those that agree and disagree with it. Debate!

Pah, whoever told you that God hates gays obviously is just regurgitating what they hear other people say. In the Bible it says to condemn the sin not the sinner, so in theory it should be homosexuality rather than homosexuals that would be hated. If you're gonna quote the Bible, quote it properly. As a Christian, it annoys me when people misquote. I then have to spend time defending, when I shouldn't as people should get their facts straight first.
Gah.
And in other news, Noah took seven cows onto the Ark. I found that out over the weekend.

Sorry, but I struggle to find the difference between homosexuals and homosexuality, because all homosexuals practice homosexuality and there fore god hates those that practice it. I'm not misquoting anything, it's the exact same thing.
The sinner practices the sin and this technicality is hardly a defense.

As far as I am aware, it is the act of sex with another man that is seen as a sin. Therefore, someone who is homosexual ye celibate should be accepted, yes?

I don't understand the difference. Practicing homosexuality is obviously part of what defines them as a person, and therefore if it's a part of who they are logically god also hates the sinner as well as the sin.

God prohibits many things that people just ignore just the hating of homosexuality is really something they've gone with.

God prohibits many things that people just ignore just the hating of homosexuality is really something they've gone with. Exactly true. I think the reason for that is that homosexuality is still considered abnormal by many people and is therefore an easy target to shoot the religious argument at. Many of the other things that God prohibits are now considered a social norm so don't have the "but God hates it" argument chucked at them.

Leviticus 18: 22: Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination. Oh noes - God says it so it must be wrong - right? Um... So what else did God say in Leviticus? Leviticus 19: 26: Ye shall not eat any thing with the blood: neither shall ye use enchantment, nor observe times. Leviticus 19: 27: Ye shall not round the corners of your heads, neither shalt thou mar the corners of thy beard. Leviticus 19: 28: Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the LORD. Oright

God has so many ridiculous laws that mostly we ignore, and this ridiculous law comes along and no one ignores it.
