This case really makes me despair about people. His Stepfather breaks his back and ribs and probably other bones during the course of his short life and caused him untold agony. His mother allowed it. The lodger allowed it. The social services didn't notice the abuse, terrible as it was. The DOCTOR didn't notice that the poor little lad had: A BROKEN BACK SEVERAL BROKEN RIBS AND WAS PARALYSED FROM THE WAIST DOWN. She should be struck off.
This is just too reminisant of the Victoria Climbe case. Children are being tortured to death but the people in charge of their security aren't noticing, and now look what's happened.

In Australia its quite rare to see this stuff but it still happens. Its most common in America however.

It's sickening. Apparantly the mother had other kids who lived in the house, too, who went to school. They all had nits and were beaten by the step-fater too, though not to the extent Baby P was. Surely one of the teachers/parents at the school would have noticed they weren't like normal kids and could have said something.

Surely one of the teachers/parents at the school would have noticed they weren't like normal kids and could have said something. They were probably too scared to say anything...

Here in Australia it's actually against the law for a teacher or someone in care of a child to not report anything like that they might notice. The thing is, a lot of scared of being wrong and then subsequently being sued for defaming someone.
