Hey all I'm Joe, and I'm a close friend of Tom Beasley xD I helped found ABC, which you may or may not know, but now, Tom owns/runs the site, and I just say it was my idea xD I love writing. My dad is a playwright with his own company: Theatre Absolute. Those in Coventry might know that the company purchased Fishy Moore's and are planning to turn it into a small, private theatre! Saturday job, here I come! I've been published twice for my poems in the 2007 & 2008 Talkin' 'Bout My Generation poetry contests, which I loved entering I write constantly. Over the holidays I just came up with this idea and wrote what is now the Preface of my book I've now done chapter 4, but after some heavy revisiting I have revised it into a larger chapter 1, and what I've done of chapter 2 I also have a passion for poetry and song writing. My dad (it's all in the genes!) is in his own band, though trsut me, I'm a better singer xD My reading life is never empty, an I just love the fact that I can escape my world (which isn't all that nice at times) and be who I want to be (B-A-R-B-I-E, Barbie Girl! xD) Anyway, that's me, and I hope to see you around Hi Joe! Ooh. Put in a word for me at that place because I bloody need a job. xD

Hey guys. I'm The Firefly Cat. Heh heh. Also known as... Tigertail, Lynxfire, Tori Atika, Gwin Corder, Petal&Spike, and Zoe. I'm in a load of RPGs. I love reading, and naturally I want to write, too. I'm not half as good as any published author, and probably not half as good as any unpublished author either, but I don't know. I'll work towards it. It's hard to get published, but I'll have to try! Anyway, I don't write to get published, I do it for fun. I came here to meet other writers and read their work. I'm also a big music fan. I like practically all types of music that's instrumental. Meaning, well, I like pop songs and rock and whatnot, but not as much as I like classical, jazz, blues, whatever. I have been playing the harp for one year, and the piano for ten years. And I'm an animal lover. I ride, not very well, and I have a cat! So that's me.

Hello, Canadaboy and Tom! Thanks for the welcomes! Canadaboy: I'm in Yamaha Grade 5, which is the equivalent of ABRSM Grade 8. The pieces we play are only at the level of ABRSM Grade 5, because our technique isn't very good, but we also learn chord progressions and naming, improvisation, counter-melody writing, motif development and composition, improvisation, ensemble playing, and what-not. xD Therein lies the difference. So Yamaha teaches you to have loads of fun with your own music, but ABRSM allows you to have fun with other people's music, which is usually extremely good but nevertheless is still not yours. Did that make sense? ;P Do you play an instrument?
